We're all so sad to hear this. After our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes age 4, we saw Dr Savage at our monthly clinic appointments for years. He was always so kind and patient, and made us feel at ease. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Thank you from our family for Tim's devoted care for our now 5 year old daughter Stella. She was first diagnosed just before Christmas 2023. He worked closely with us at clinics and for our pump transition and was always full of vibrancy and empathy. Our deepest sympathy.

So sad to hear the news that Tim has passed away. Tim was the kind, patient, caring doctor that we first met when our son was diagnosed with Type 1 and we had to deal with the shock and learn to navigate living with Type 1. His wisdom and positivity was always welcome and allowed a stressful experience to be made easier. He was a constant in our lives for 4-5 years. His knowledge and practice will be missed in the diabetes space. Condolences and aroha to his daughter, Emma and partner, Marianne.

I´m so deeply saddened to hear this news. Having a child with Type 1 diabetes, over the past 10 years, Tim and the entire team, have been a constant presence in our lives. He will be dearly missed for his friendly personality, warm heart, and wonderful sense of humour. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him.

We are truly saddened to hear the news of Tim's passing. When we were first introduced to him at one of the most difficult times of our lives he showed us so much compassion and patience as we learned what our new normal would look like. He and Gilli were an amazing team and we will be forever grateful. Tim, you hold a special place in our hearts and our thoughts go out to his family, particularly his daughter who he mentioned often at our clinics. Thank you for your humour and we will miss your lovely irish accent too. All our love Jo, Vito, Milly and Sofia. xxx

I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Tim. I knew him both professionally, and as a mother of a child with diabetes. I'll never forgot the day he told me my daughter had diabetes. I was an absolute mess and he was so patient, genuine and kind. And so so funny. I really liked his humor and needed it more than ever that day. Sending so much love to Tim's whanau, friends and colleagues.

So terribly sad to hear this news. Tim was the first Dr we saw in emergency when our then 4 year old daughter was admitted with type 1 diabetes. That was 12 years ago and I still remember his kind, caring nature toward her and to us then - and through the subsequent years. He set the tone for us managing this journey and gave so much to his job. Our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. The Buick-Constable whanau
