I met Arthur on my last day of clinical for my nursing school. I was his student nurse at the hospital in Heritage Valley Beaver. My last day of clinical for the semester couldn’t have been better because of him as if it was almost like I was meant to be his nurse. Arthur was such an inspiration to have as a patient. We bonded the as soon as I walked in his room. He found out my name was Samantha just like his grand daughter that he was so close with. I loved this because I was always very close with my grandparents too. We called it a “Samantha Thing” that day. I loved hearing all of his stories and how much his family and friends meant to him. On his worst day, he still had a smile on his face and he was so thankful for all his years of life. He told me he’s got to do amazing things that some people can only dream of doing. I think to a point I was more upset then he was. Arthur will never know how much he truly touched my life and I will never forget him as I continue my nursing career.
May his beautiful soul Rest In Peace.
