LARKSVILLE - Marion Mihalko, 79, of Larksville, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 11, 2021, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born on Aug.13, 1941, in Kingston. She was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Parashac.
She graduated from high school, class of 1959; Mansfield University, class of 1963, with a Bachelor of Arts in music education; and Marywood, class of 1986 with a Masters degree in theology.
Marion taught music at BCI/Glendale School District in Flinton, Abington Heights, and Northwest Area high schools. She also substituted at Wyoming Valley West and retired in 2000.
Music and the arts were an important part of her life. She was heavily involved with the Little Theater in Wilkes-Barre and enjoyed playing flute in the pit orchestra and performing on stage. She sang with "Joey I" Infantino for over 20 years for weddings and social events.
She was the Director of Liturgical Music at Saint Mary's in Wilkes-Barre under Monsignors Madden and Bannick. Marion was very active in the Wyoming United Methodist Church having served as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and director of Summer Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir.
Marion loved to travel with her husband, cooking with her granddaughters and celebrating their music and track and field accomplishments. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be missed more than words can express.
In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina M Rock; and her daughter-in-law, Lori Mihalko.
She is survived by her son, Taras Mihalko; granddaughters, Samantha and Natasha Mihalko; her brother, Stephen Parashac; and her loving husband, Barry Mihalko.
Private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.J. Kopicki Funeral Home, Kingston.
