I'll never forget you big James. A real highlander through and through. Taught me much about life and friendship. A great member of the regiment and piping world.

Hello MacDonalds. I'm sorry to have just learned of Jim's passing. My earliest memories of Jim making me feel welcome at the Highland games as a youngster, and his positive and encouraging manner with me and all the other upcoming young players. It was also a pleasure to have had him (and his old pal, Alex MacKenzie) play in the Nanaimo band with me. Jim set a wonderful positive example for other pipers and drummers. It would have been impossible to spend much time in his company without a smile spreading across your face. My sympathy for your loss and my best wishes to all of you.
