Nov 27, 1944 - May 5, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ken, at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. He will be sorely missed by his wife and soulmate of 58 years Estelle (nee Boileau), who he met on South Drive in Kitchener when they were very young. He leaves behind his three loving children Melissa, Sean (Karen) and Kean (Karen), as well as five grandchildren - Aaron (Brianne), Lauren, Liam (Yana), Nathan and Konner. Ken was also fortunate to have three great-grandchildren, Bruce, George, and new arrival Gereon, born on May 5, 2023. Ken will be fondly remembered by his sisters Patricia, Kathleen, Shirley, Donna and Maureen and brother Terrence, along with brothers-in-law Vincent, Gilbert, and Denis. Ken also counted many nieces and nephews from two rather large families. He was predeceased by his father Ken Sr. (1976) and his mother Martha (nee Schmidt, 2007). Ken was an avid fisherman and carpenter and was a good hockey and baseball player in his younger years. He worked at BF Goodrich in Kitchener for several years before moving on to different positions in the K-W area. He was a lifelong Leafs fan and loved nothing better than going to the French River with Estelle, putting a boat in the water and a lure on his line and hauling in pike, pickerel, and bass. Dad was a faithful servant of the Catholic church and maintained that faith right to the end. We give thanks to the wonderful staff at Freeport and St. Mary's hospitals, who were all very gracious and accommodating of Ken's needs in the past couple of months. Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home (519-749-8467). A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Ave, Kitchener at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, followed by a celebration of life reception in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cards available at the funeral home). Visit
