It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jerry Brodie on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. He has gone to be present with the Lord and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda, his children Heather, Matthew (Jennifer) and Esther; also lovingly remembered by his mother Jean and his sister Julie. Sadly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Jerry was quite literally a man that wore many hats, and could often be remembered for his brightly coloured shirts to match his unforgettable personality and would create a happy spot on the bus by decorating for the seasons or the holidays, even dressing up as Santa. He loved his job as a school bus driver and will be missed by his passengers. Often these passengers would benefit from the encouraging words of wisdom from Jerry as he watched them climb the steps to get on the bus.
Family and friends will be received at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. Breslau 519-904-0400 on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. A private family interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at the First Baptist Church 306 Erb St. W. Waterloo. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions we ask those that will be attending to wear a mask and follow directions. Contact tracing will take place at the funeral home and again at the church. In memory of Jerry, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Power to Change Ministries will be greatly appreciated by the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. My deepest sympathies to his family. I was a schoolmate of Jerry. My first day of school at Olinda was scary but this nice kid shared his reader with me. We became friends and played euchre on our lunch hour. I went camping with the Brodie family many time. Jerry and his family was always kind to me. We lost touch after high school . Sorry to hear about the loss of a very nice man.
