Edwin Charles Brissett 82, passed away on July 8, 2021 at 4:30 p.m., surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. He was born on March 12, 1939, in Ulster Springs, Trelawny, Jamaica to Walter and Erneta Gaynor Brissett. Edwin was the sixth-born of 7 siblings, including: Joanie, Vernal, Berthel, Monica, Grace, Edwin and Enid. He is survived by his oldest brother Vernal Brissett and youngest sister Enid Newman, who was a confidante, and loved, prayed and cared for him tirelessly over the years and in his final hours.

Edwin was married to Theresa Brissett for over 25 years, and is survived by Theresa and their two children, daughter Lorna Brissett and son Dr. Anthony Edwin Brissett, as well as two grand-daughters whom he adored, Ella and Chloe Brissett and daughter-in-law Dr. Annette Brissett.

Edwin was a faithful man of God, enjoying his volunteer work at church and giving back to others in his community. He volunteered tirelessly as a church usher at his church, Benton Street Baptist Church, where he was an active member for many years, and enjoyed greeting everyone, and there was not a stranger that Edwin did not know. He also enjoyed world travel, and was particularly proud of one mission trip to Kenya, Africa with his church that forever changed his life and continued to influence his care and compassion for those less fortunate.

At an early age, Edwin, also affectionately referred to as "Nie"or "Foxy" because of his warmth and charm, discovered his passion and expertise for welding. As a skilled engineer at heart, it was no surprise that he excelled at his craft and spent a great deal of his career working as a technical welder and master pipe fitter, in Jamaica, England, Canada and the USA. In 1992, he was honored by his profession for 25 years of dedicated service by his local UA union in Kitchener, Ontario.

In addition to several friends and family, nieces, nephews, cousins and God-children, Edwin is survived by his second wife, Bereta Brissett. The family would like to especially thank, and are grateful for, Lenora Green for her compassionate care, prayers, love and dedication in caring for Edwin over several years and in his final hours. We are also thankful to everyone for their kind phone calls, love and prayers. We are comforted by the out pouring of love and support.

Edwin's warm heart, smile and generous spirit will be greatly missed.
