Michael was a great man. He was a very kind hearted and easy going individual. I met him in the summer of 1987 when I worked for Triangle Insulation. Three years later I started my apprenticeship. He was a great teacher of our trade, always positive and easy going. We worked on many jobs together and had a lot of laughs along the way.
After his retirement we lost touch somewhat but still had the occasional phone conversation. He had called me on the afternoon of his passing. I'm very sad to say that I didn't hear the message until the next day and was completely shocked to hear from Darlene that Michael was gone.
Darlene, I hope that you will be able to always take some comfort and peace knowing that your Angel has been reunited with Christopher, his parents, brothers and sisters.
Try to stay strong and know that he will be watching over you.

I was next door neighbour to Mike in Waterloo for a number of years. Although I haven't kept in touch since, I will always remember his kindness and have many fond memories of our time living next to each other. Like the time sitting around the fire in his backyard and he ran into the house to grab hot dogs as we heard the fire sirens getting closer. Always prepared.

I have known Mike almost all my life, i've seen his clever wit, some of the sayings he came up with i still chuckle about. He was a best friend anybody would be proud to have. I have spent many hours in our boat with Mike and he only made it a more pleasureable experience. I will miss his phone calls which always started out with" Hi Jimmy"! Don't remember Mike ever being anything but kind and thoughtful. I certainly hope there is fish where he is going. FISH ON! Rest in peace friend. Never forget you. Jim.
