1948 - 2021

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of a dear husband, dad, pop, brother, uncle and friend at Hospice Wellington with his wife and kids by his side. Rick is survived by his wife Wendy of 49 years of marriage, daughter Candace (James) Brown, Kyle (Andrea) Donaldson, grandkids Emma, Ayden, Payton, Jacob and Owen, sisters, Dolly (Jim) Huber, Shelia (Ron) Coleman, Karren (d. Harry) Davidson, brother, Larry (Lynn) Donaldson, mother-in-law Betty Cook, sisters-in-law, Cheryl (John) Hammer, Denise (Mike) Maurer, Leslie (Gord Kenzie) Schiedel, brother-in-law Greg (Glennis) Cook. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Rick is predeceased by his mom and dad, Agnes and Merle Donaldson, brother Orval (Marion) Donaldson and father-in-law Joseph Cook. Rick was born in Bancroft Ontario and resided for most of his life in Preston where Rick and Wendy raised their family. Rick had a successful lifelong career of 50 years in the Aggregate Industry where lifelong friends were made. Rick loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, going for drives and always up for trying new bread recipes. He was a man of knowledge, always willing to help, teach, learn, and make memories. At Rick's request cremation has taken place. Rick's family will receive relatives and friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge Ontario (519-621-1650) on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 3 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington, 795 Scottsdale Dr, Guelph Ontario.
