Mrs. Margaret P. "Peggy" (Garling) Gingrich Obituary
Mrs. Margaret P. "Peggy" (Garling) Gingrich, 78, of Fish and Game Road, Waynesboro, PA passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Shippensburg Healthcare Center, Shippensburg, PA.
Born September 13, 1939 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late S.L. and Sara E. (Jacobs) Garling. She lived her early life in the Zullinger, PA area.
Mrs. Gingrich was a graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1958.
She and her husband of 59 years, Mr. Charles E. Gingrich, were married March 21, 1959 in the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. They moved to their present residence April 26, 1969.
In her early life, Mrs. Gingrich was employed at Nicodemus Orchard, Zullinger. She then went on to be a teaching assistant at the Waynesboro Area School District. Mrs. Gingrich retired June 5, 2002 after 28 years.
Mrs. Gingrich was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and National AARP. She enjoyed camping and reading.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, Robert E. Gingrich of State Line, PA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Garling of Mont Alto, PA, Larie "Chub" Garling of Zullinger, PA, and Garry Garling of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three siblings, Ronald Garling, Virginia Byers, and Joann Willison.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor John Brantley officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Tuesday morning, in the funeral home.
