Mr. Earl L. "Jake" Rowe Sr. Obituary
Mr. Earl L. "Jake" Rowe, Sr., 74, of Fish and Game Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 in York Hospital.
Born January 11, 1944 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Anna Louise (Rowe) Moser.
Mr. Rowe attended Waynesboro Area Schools and served in the United States Army.
He was employed by Frick Company, Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing and Grove Manufacturing. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was a longtime employee of AMP/Tyco Electronics. He currently drove van #48 for McCleaf Bus Lines to Mother Seton School in Emmitsburg, MD.
Mr. Rowe was a member of Eagles Club, Inc. Owls Club and Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, all of Waynesboro. He also served as a coach for Waynesboro Little League, Pony League and Colt League baseball for many years.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed bowling, line dancing and mowing his lawn.
Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Mrs. Linda (Wetzel) Rowe who he married December 31, 1965; one son, Earl L. "Jakie" Rowe, Jr. and his wife, Kim of Mont Alto; granddaughter, Megan Rowe; four sisters, Ann Clever, Goldie Kauffman, Jean Kaiser and Rebecca "Beck" Stottlemyer, all of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Boyd F. "Jim" Rowe.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, in the funeral home
