Robert Fortney Obituary
Bob Fortney passed peacefully, on Thursday, Nov. 19, at his residence in Vacaville, with his family by his side.
Bob was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Fairfield to Verna and Carl Fortney. On Sept. 3, 1966, he married the love of his life, "Lee Anne" Lillian Baldetta, in Fairfield at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and were married 49 years at the time of his passing.
Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending his days on the course with his family and friends. Bob also loved the Boston Red Sox and hiking in the desert.
Bob is survived by sons, Michael (Sherri) Fortney, Vacaville and Mark Fortney, Portland, OR; also survived by his four granddaughters, Leilani Marie, Danielle, Tatum and Gabriella.
Bob always enjoyed a good party and hosting one as well. In the fondest fashion, he asked his family to "surprise me" and to honor his request, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the "The Mission on the Hill", 1300 E. Monte Vista Ave, Vacaville. If you plan to honor Bob, the only thing the family requests is that you bring a "smile and a story" with you.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Solano County SPCA or to your favorite charity.
