Hugh Hollis Kimbrough II Obituary
Feb. 12, 1936 - Feb. 3, 2018 Vacaville USN Veteran 1954 - 1958. Hugh died peacefully during sleep in his home of 25 years in Vacaville. He was bedridden for 14 months with kidney cancer under the loving care of Vallejo Kaiser Hospice and daily care of his wife. He was born to Hugh and Alice Kimbrough in Barnsdall, OK at home during a snowstorm. He grew up and attended schools in Oklahoma, Arkansas, California, and Guam. Hugh met and married his college sweetheart, Mary J. Stone, for a 58 year honeymoon. Their first adventure was to Guam for a two year teaching assignment which evolved into 27 years. He was a Christian, an avid reader, historian, chess and duplicate bridge player. He traveled to many countries and all the continents. This happy couple became the parents of H.H. III (Jennifer) Kimbrough of Tehachapi and Janet (Ray) Valenzuela of Vacaville. They were blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Emily Rose, Sarah Ann, and H.H. IV. He is also survived by one sister, Reba Jean Wollam; nephew, John (Amanda) Wollam of Chico, and niece, Alyce (Charles) Wheeler of Nevada. Services will be held Monday, Feb. 19 at the Dixon United Methodist Church at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Home hospitality will follow the interment at the family home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to, Vallejo Hospice, 1761 Broadway Ste.101, Vallejo, CA 95689.
