Ione Marie Moore Obituary
May 3, 1941 - Dec. 24, 2017 Ione Marie Moore (76) of Fairfield passed away on Dec. 24, at home. Always a "please and thank you" girl, she liked most everyone. It was a trait she picked up from her mother, Marian. Ione was born to Norris and Marian Olson, May 3, 1941 in Sharon, ND. When complimented on her cooking, Ione would say: "It's my mother's. She never taught me. I just watched". We like to think she's still watching. A sure sign Ione didn't expect to die is the fact this obituary was put together without her constructive criticism. If she were here she would say: "Don't make it too long. Don't say I died suddenly. Everyone dies suddenly. Don't fill it with dates and places that are not important". A date that is important is May 23, 1964, when she married, Bob in Syracuse, NY. After Syracuse the couple moved to Norfolk, VA, then Naples, Italy, Washington D.C., Kodiak, Alaska and Seattle, WA, where Bob retired from the Navy in 1972. By then, the couple had four children, Rory, Brian (deceased), Donna, and Valerie ( deceased). To start a new career, the Moore's moved back to Washington, D.C., where Bob began a new career. While Bob was at work, Ione did the hard stuff. While shoveling snow from the driveway, a neighbor lady asked, "You don't work"? Ione replied, "Try raising four kids while taking care of everything from sex to socks, then ask me!" This is where she would become irritated and say, "You've said enough. Now get on with it"! Sorry honey, but we need to add Ione loved her life and her family. She loved her husband; daughter, Donna (Tena) and brothers, Norm (Tris) and Rick (Kathy). She lived the way she thought best and died with all the dignity she possessed! A visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Wednesday Jan. 10, at 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. Prior to service a viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Following the funeral service a Committal will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
