Lela Nishizaki passed away peacefully in her home Feb. 1, after a short illness at the age of 68. Lela was born Oct. 17, 1948 as the only daughter of Gerald and Flora Knight in Amarillo, TX. She moved to Dixon in 1977.

Lela is survived by her husband, Eddie Nishizaki; two daughters, Conni Zuck and Sherri (Delmer) Bussell and one grandchild, Erin Bussell.

Lela was an avid bird watcher and volunteered at the International Bird Rescue. Her family wishes that in lieu of flowers please donate to the International Bird Rescue at www.bird-rescue.org, or 4369 Cordelia Road, Fairfield, CA 94534.

There will be Celebration of Life on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., at the Olde Vets Hall, 231 N. First St., Dixon. Please join us so we may "raise a glass" in her memory.
