Clyde Colburn Obituary

March 21 at VacaValley Hospital due to natural causes.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanie; son; six-month-old granddaughter, Jade, who was a source of sparkling joy during the latter part of his long-term ailment; and brother, Raymond from NC. He was preceded in death by brother, Harold and sister, Shirley.

Clyde was born in New Hampshire and is the oldest son of Custer and Margaret Colburn.

Clyde retired from the US Army after serving 23 years of active duty. His military achievements include a Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. After military service, Clyde spent 18 years in the Civil Service at Travis AFB.

During retirement, Clyde participated in the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), American Legion, Cooties, and NARFE. Clyde enjoyed playing pool and participating in community activities at the Vacaville Senior Center. Patriotic, hardworking, and selfless, Clyde's sponsorship of overseas relatives helped to create new generations of Americans.

Contributions may be made to the Vacaville Senior Center. Clyde, thank you for your service, please rest in peace.

Visitation will held Thursday, March 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. Burial will be Friday, March 27. Clyde will be laid to rest at the Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon.
