Arlene Mininger Obituary
Arlene (Stover) Mininger, age 86, of Souderton, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, her Savior, on February 7, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles N. “Charlie” Mininger for over 66 years. Born March 13, 1931, in Telford, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Eva (Clemmer) Stover. Arlene was an active member of Franconia Mennonite Church for the last 9 years, where she loved to help care for the 2 year-old children. Prior to that, she was a very active member of Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL, and Lakeview Mennonite Church in Lakeview, PA. After growing up in the Telford/Franconia area, Arlene moved with her husband Charles to spend 30 years in Binghamton, NY and was active with Lakeview Church and community. After retiring to Sarasota, Arlene was an active volunteer with Sunnyside Nursing Home and their Church. In Souderton, Arlene was an active quilting volunteer at the M.R.C. and enjoyed her bi-weekly swimming sessions, fitness center workouts and game nights with friends at S.M.H. Arlene absolutely LOVED to sew and quilt. She spent hours with friends and also alone on her machine, creating beautiful quilts and creation for family and friends. She is survived by her son Jay Mininger and his wife Kelly (Winters); grandchildren Kurt Mininger and his wife Alexandra (Hull), Patricia Mininger and her husband Rawles Wilcox and Kaitlin Mininger and her fianc√© Joseph LeFebre; two incredible great-grandchildren Adeline and Grant Mininger; brother Harold Stover and his wife Donna; sister Linda Nyce. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph Landes, John Grasse, Betty Stover, Earl and Betty Mininger, Lois Bean and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Grasse, Janet Eash and Mary Landes and her brother Arden Stover. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Souderton Mennonite Home, 207 West Summit Street, Souderton, where the family will greet guests from 1:00 – 2:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Arlene’s name may be made to Souderton Mennonite Home, marker for Elizabeth’s Garden at the address above.
