Philip Leber Sr. Obituary
Philip A. Leber, Sr., 94, of Hatfield, died Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was the husband of the late Bertha B. (Keely) Leber, who died November 11, 2008. Born October 7, 1923 in Eureka, PA, he was a son of the late Nathaniel and Ida (Hunsberger) Leber. Mr. Leber began his career with the former Link-Belt (later FMC), Colmar, in 1953. In 1970, he purchased George’s Tool Rental, Hatfield, which he owned and operated until his retirement. A veteran of the US Navy, Mr. Leber served his country honorably during World War II. Earlier in life, he built his family home in Montgomeryville. He later built his family’s mountain home which he proudly shared with many friends and family. Phil was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Doylestown where he and his late wife supported many missionaries over the years. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He is survived by his children, Philip “Andy” Leber, Jr. (Michele) of Sellersville, Sandra K. Labs (Scott) of Plumsteadville, Cynthia S. Moyer (Jay) of Telford, and Martha “Marty” Wismer of Perkasie; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; his brother, Rev. Paul Leber of Philadelphia, MS; and his best friend, Bob McCarty (Marcille) of Forkston, PA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann “Muffy” Halstead; sister, Ruth Ashlock; and brother, Benjamin Leber. Relatives and friends may call between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Doylestown, 311 W. State St., Doylestown, followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 21 in Schwenksville Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Leber’s memory to the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation, 318 Half Day Rd., #305, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.
