As the black-belt instructor in the mid-1970's at Tsuruoka Karate Dojo on the second floor of the old library building on Elizabeth St in Burlington Ontario, Gerry Lee will forever be "Lee Sensei" to me. As a young teen obsessed with both Martial Arts and Japanese culture, I found what I was looking for at the Dojo, and Sensei was exactly what I sought in an instructor. Calm, wise, a fantastic sense of humor, and terrific martial artist, he became a mentor and inspiration for me, even trusting me, at about 16, with my own set of keys to the dojo and permission to enter whenever I wanted.
I always hoped to one day meet him again, alas, that can never be, but he lives in my memory with honor, and always will.
Rest easy, Sensei, and thank you.

First and foremost Karen and I are sadden by your passing Gerry and we send our condolences to your family and friends. I met Gerry back in the mid 1990's during an archery shoot and he made 2 dozen arrows for my wife and I. And to this day we still have the arrows that he made for us. The arrows he made shot perfectly and the craftsmanship was superb! I remember seeing Gerry all dressed in green tights like Robin Hood during a traditional shoot. Gerry You are already sadly missed.

My sincere condolences to Gerry's family and friends. Gerry made my first set of wooden arrows when I started 3D archery back in the early 90's and it was always a pleasure talking with and just being in Gerry's presence. The Champion's Arrow contest (held in respect and honour of Gerry) that is held every year on the first Sunday in February at Galt's Sportsmen Club is always fun and Gerry always made this event exciting and fun. And I am proud to say that I was a champion of this event one year and had a picture taken with Gerry. I will always remember Gerry's firm handshake, warm and friendly smile and he with his long bow dressed up like Robin Hood alongside his comrades. Gerry may you continue "flinging" those wooden arrows up in heaven. I will always remember you whenever I attend "The Champion"s Arrow" shoot or The Galt Sportsmen Club 3D archery tournaments.

Another great person and archer who has moved on. Like so many other mutual friends and archers who have also done the same during the decades that I have had the privilege of being Gerry's friend.
My memories of Gerry will always include his big smile, hand shake with a warm hug, and equally warm greeting.
Gerry you will be missed, but not forgotten. Loose a few arrows with Terry, Jack and all the others who have moved on before you. We'll see you again. Your friend and fellow archer Randy.
My condolences to your family and other friends, on our loss of you Gerry, rest in peace knowing you will forever be alive in all those you have touched over your time in this life.

My dear friend, many people walked through the doors of IKEA, None of them touched my heart with friendship, laughter and great conversations the way Gerry did. Gerry and Gary would come in for breakfast and never left without giving me a laugh. Always had a joke or wisdom to pass on. We had that friendship that your didn’t see each other often but you picked up conversations like we were never apart.
The family has hard times ahead thought hugs and strength sent to each of you.

Gerry Lee brought immediate joy and peace into my heart whenever I heard his voice, his laughter, or caught a moment of eye contact with him. His wisdom translated thru his smile and there was a spontaneous healing in those moments. By a fire at Hawkeye or in the forest with our bows, his company was as ethereal as it was physically real. I feel that he is as close with us now as ever he has been, tho I would unstring my long bow indefinitely to have another chat with him. Thank you Gerry for your wisdom and beautiful presence.

Knowing Gerry for over 20 years may seem like a lifetime to some. For me it wasn't enough time. Like many have already said his wit was second to none and me being Scottish and Gerry being English you can only imagine our conversations! I will miss you dearly Gerry but I know now you are not in pain and you are peace. Save me a spot in the trees until we meet again.
Thoughts and prayers with all of Gerry's family during this time.

I knew Gerry for many years at the Burlington YMCA. An extremely nice and funny man who would never leave without telling you at least one joke, on a slow day. First thing out of his mouth “hey Sarge, here’s one for you, as he looked around first, lol”
May you Rest In Peace Gerry and condolences to your family and friends.
