Barbara Jane Holmes

Barbara Jane Holmes (Small) passed away March 14, 2021 in her 78th year at the Juravinsky Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. She is predeceased by her parents Norman and Doris Small of Niagara Falls and her devoted life partner William (Al) Rolls of Stoney Creek. Barbara will be missed by her brother Jim Small (Ingrid) and their children Eyren and Ryan. She will also be missed by her stepdaughter Lyndsey Hill (Rolls), step-grandson Ben Hill (Nancy) and their son Warren along with many other members of the Rolls family. She was a research librarian at Brock University, a CAA travel agent and an accomplished musician. Music became a focal point for a very happy life in Stoney Creek. Barbara(clarinet) and Al (trumpet) played regularly together in several local bands including the Lincoln Concert Band. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the many friends she made through this musical journey. Barb travelled extensively, loved her many pets and was a long time volunteer with the Hamilton and Burlington SPCA. There will be no visitation, as per her wishes. A small celebration of her life is scheduled at the interment June 26, 2021 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy please consider a donation to The Juravinsky Cancer Centre.
