Robert BEACH Obituary

August 27, 1933 - January 5, 2021 Passed away peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice Burlington with his family at his side in his 88th year. Was the beloved husband of Carol who predeceased him (2014) after 58 years of Marriage. Finally reunited with the love of his life Carol. Survived by his son Rob, daughter Kathy Turville (Al) son Todd (Karol) and brother Clyde (Sally). Loving Grandfather of Melissa (Michael), Ryan, Travis (Brittany), Spencer (Stephanie), Wesley, Alyssa (Michael), Brett (Rachael), Neil (Mubashra). Great-grandfather to Adaline, Theodore, Maxi, Evelyn and soon to arrive Izaiah. Bob was predeceased by his father Harry, mother Kathleen, brother Leo, sisters Joyce and Norma. Bob was born in Niagara Falls where he attended Stamford Collegiate. Upon graduation Bob attended Business College in Niagara Falls, New York. Bob received a degree from Queens University in Property Assessment in 1957, eventually becoming a Property Assessor for the City of Niagara Falls. Bob moved his family to Burlington in 1966 when he was appointed County Assessor for Halton. In 1969 Bob was appointed Regional Assessment Commissioner for Halton/Peel. In 1983 Bob was appointed Executive Director Assessment Ministry of Revenue. Bob retired from the Ministry of Revenue in 1989 but his career wasn't finished. Bob started his own Consulting company assisting with the Market Value reassessment of the City of Toronto and taught Assessment and Appraisal at Fanshawe College. He was a member of the Land Severance committee and Committee of Adjustment, City of Burlington for over 15 years. Bob's greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren and great- grandchildren grow. Bob had many great friendships and great neighbours but was particularly blessed to know his friend Colin Thompson for 80 years enjoying sharing stories and a beer right up to his passing. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date as permitted.
