It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Earle Bowerman on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in his 92nd year. He passed peacefully with family at his side at St. Peter's Hospital. Deeply loved husband of Joan for almost 69 years. Cherished father of Janis (Arthur Cattafi) and Brian (Lori). Proud and devoted Papa of Jeffrey (Jennifer) and Steven (Shannon) Platz, Michael (Sarah) Bowerman and Shannon Bowerman (Victor Burgos). Adoring great-grandfather of Hailey, Samantha, Isabella, Brooke, Jade, Tyler, Lillian and Megan (Allister). Predeceased by son-in-law David Lewis. Brother of the late Donald (Joyce) and Eleanor (Joe) Lyons. Brother-in-law of the late Keith Hunter and the late Doreen McEneny. Doug was born January 17, 1930 to Walter and Grace Bowerman in Picton, Ontario. He was the National Service Manager at Hoover Canada and retired after 45 years. Following Retirement at age 65, he enjoyed his second career at Award Limousine for another 21 years, finally retiring at age 89. Doug was a member of the Blackheath Binbrook Lions Club. A Lions member for almost 50 years, he received many prestigious accolades. Doug loved NASCAR racing and was actively involved for many years with stock car racing at Flamboro Speedway. If any-one ever needed anything he was always right there to help without hesitation. He was such an incredible and selfless man and we are so proud and honoured to have had him as our husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Juravinski and St. Peter's (Maplewood Avenue) Hospi- tals for the excellent care and friendship they gave to Doug during his stay.
A Special thanks to Dr. Kraeker at Juravinski.
