It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of an incredible woman, our Mother, Edith Morris (Nee Cuthbertson) surrounded by her family on April 9, 2021 at the age of 74. Our dear sweet Momma devoted her life to us 6 children Pam (Brad), Trish (Kyle), Tom (Betty), Todd, Tyler and Trevor. She was an adored Nana to several Grandchildren and a Great-Grandchild. Mom had hundreds of friends but was a lifelong friend to Trina. Special thanks to Family Physician Dr. Owsianik, and her amazing Surgeons Dr. Waleed Al-Hazzani, Dr. Nenshi and Dr. Cloutier who worked tirelessly to try and save our Mom's life. Heartfelt apprec-iation to all her ICU nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital, specifically Yana, who gave impeccable care to our beloved Momma and ensured her comfort throughout her critical care days. Our Mom will be lovingly remembered by everyone who had the privilege to meet her. She will never be forgotten for many reasons including her kindness, her sense of humor, and her love of providing food and shelter for homeless cats and the less fortunate in her neighbourhood. Mom was a true Legend and Monarch of the North End. A staple in her Community. She will be missed. As a result of the current Covid-19 restrictions, Mom's wishes of a Service and a Celebration of Life, and gathering on the Harbour Queen Boat Cruise will take place once the restrictions are lifted. Details to be announced at that time. Special thanks to Councillor Jason Farr, who will be dedicating a Morris Family Bench at "The Bay" (Pier 4). Cremation has already taken place. Donations are not necessary however because of our Mother's generosity and her commitment to caring for cats in need, donations to the Action Volunteers for Animals would be greatly appreciated. . Mom was a huge fan of music, in particular, she enjoyed Stevie Wonder and Barry White. She would want nothing more than for her loved ones and friends to cheers to her fulfilled life with a song and a cold one. "Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again." Rest in peace Momma.
