It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Janet Shirton beloved wife of Keith for 63 years. Cherished mother to Sandra Egger (Keith), Doug (Kathy), Diana Langeraap (Rick) and Dave (Wanda). Loving and proud grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother to 20 with one expected in May. Sister to Neil Duncan, Lois Ricker (Ken), Claire Covey (Dave) and Lynn Bruzas (Paul). Sister-in-law to Lyle Shirton (Barb), Joan Fulsom (Davin), Jane Case (Ken), Wayne Shirton (Debbie), Sheila Battle (Tom) and Joyce Kirkpatrick. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Victor and Effie Duncan. Janet and Keith were dairy farmers their whole life and Mom was his partner in every way. Janet could even be found driving the water truck to help out while others chores were being done. She was involved with 4-H Homemaking Clubs, Women's Institute, Bethany United Church and most of all she liked travelling with Dad to watch her grandsons hockey games! Parkinson's Disease stole her mobility especially these last ten years but it was never able to conquer her positive attitude and outlook on life! She and Dad made Edgewater Gardens their home and we are so grateful to all the staff for their loving care and kindness. Mom we will miss you but you have earned your wings ~ you are finally free. A Private Family service will be held at JW Hart Funeral Home, Dunnville and for those wishing to honour Janet's life we ask that you park on the West side of Moote Road from Swayze Road to Lane Road with your 4-way flashers on by 2:10 p.m. and the procession will pass by on the way to Melick Cemetery. Memorial donations to Edgewater Gardens or donte.parkinsons.ca would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and photos jwhartfuneralhome.com
