Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home in Burlington on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the age of 84. Predeceased by his parents Alec and Eileen Nelligan. John will be missed by his wife Margot Brown; son John Nelligan Jr., his wife Anna and their children Riley and Jillian; son Ryan Nelligan; and daughter Katie-Anne Solomou, her husband Michael and their children Joseph and Jacob. John worked his whole career in the Truck Manufacturing Industry, first with International Harvester, then with Western Star Trucks. John was an avid and accomplished golfer and a member at Burlington Golf and Country Club for many years. He loved fishing and sports. In his later years, he focused on his grandchildren and was his happiest when his house was full of family. In keeping with John's wishes, Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Prostate Cancer Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home (905-632-3333). www.smithsfh.com
