It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rob Lardie on March 7, 2021 at the age of 57, at his home in Burlington, with his wife, Shelley, at his side. Rob was the life partner and soulmate to Shelley Brooke and devoted dad and number one fan to Benjamin (Jessica) and Meaghan (Bojan). He was the beloved son of Audrey and Lyle Lardie (both predeceased) and best brother ever to Tammie Lardie-Wilson and John (predeceased). Rob will be dearly missed by many cousins, especially Sandy and Rick and the whole Allen family. He will also be fondly remembered by the Sanders (Eleanor, Tanya and Lori-Ann), Andrew Smith, and the extended Brooke family - Denise and Gerry (predeceased), Stephen and Manju, Andrew and Josie. Also left behind are nieces and nephews - Kaitlin, Cameron, Cooper, Corey and Owen. Left to grieve also are Rob's furry and feathered friends - Sturgill, Raylan, Zooey and Artie. But his goofy Newf, Dolly Parton and crazy Berner, Murphy, are looking forward to walks in heaven with dad on his new legs. A shout out to special friends, Lee-Ann and Trent, Sue and Tim, and Tanya for all their support to us during these difficult times. We'd also like to thank the first responders and especially the wonderful neighbours on Fairleigh Place - Cheri, Steve and Cathy - in their valiant efforts to help save Rob in his final moments. Rob was a musical genius, from his earliest days as a drum prodigy to his true love of banjo picking. In addition to his long-time career at OKD Marketing, Rob was passionate in pursuing many interests, including music calendar publisher, jewellery designer and most recently as proud operator of BF Crow Coffee Roasters, until his illness made it impossible. He looked forward to his regular trips to Nashville and Las Vegas. Rob suffered through several rounds of painful and intrusive treatments at Juravinski for metastatic melanoma that ultimately reduced the quality of his life without extending it in any measurable way. His biggest message to all of you would be "F@#$ cancer". Even if your doctor assures you that you shouldn't worry about a mole, please have it removed if it bothers you. Please raise a beverage of your choice to Rob, especially if it's a whisky, margarita or coffee. Farewell Blue Eyes until we meet again. Love you forever. A Visitation will be held Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, Burlington. Due to Covid-19 regulations, reservations are required. Please do so by calling the funeral home between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 905-637-5233, or email your request to dbburlington@arbormemorial.com and a representative will contact you to confirm availability. Donations to the
charity of your choice are gratefully appreciated, especially to Melanoma Network of Canada or Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation.
