After a valiant 7 year battle with cancer, Vlado "Wally" passed away in Hamilton on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 76. Vlado will be dearly missed by his family, friends and coworkers. They will always remember his fighting spirit as he lived each day to the fullest in spite of his illness. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. After 40 years of dedicated service to Dofasco, Vlado retired to spend more time doing the activities he loved. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 3-9 p.m. In accordance with current Provincial regulations, there is a limit to the number of people allowed at the funeral home at one time. Please RSVP online on Vlado's tribute page, or call the funeral home to reserve a time to visit. Private Funeral Prayers will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 followed by private interment at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, Stoney Creek. The Funeral Service will be available to view via Zoom meeting at 11:00 am; a link will be available on Smith's website. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com
