I met Nick for the first time when his brother Greg took me to Grimsby to knock on doors during his first election. Nick was a truly good man who will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. R.I.P.

Nick was special to me in so many ways. I viewed him as a mentor, someone who patiently taught me, and brought the best out of me, in my career. But I also felt as thought of him as a surrogate father. He will be with me, always.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this giant of a man! He was my mentor and "boss" for many years in the Insurance Industry providing wisdom and insight when most needed. He was a great encourager and was not afraid to give others opportunities for growth, always putting others and his community first, taking joy in seeing others flourish. He was a real servant of his community and a role model for all of us in many ways.

I am very sad to hear this news. Nick took a chance on me and hired me as an adjuster back in 1989 when I returned from Vancouver where I was working as an Underwriter. He remained my manager until 1993 and then co-worker after that. I have very fond memories of him. He always looked out for his employees and policy holders. I learned a lot from him. We had a lot of fun times. As part of the small group from Hamilton, we always stayed in touch. I am likely unable to attend the visitation due to illness, otherwise I would. My sincere condolences to Carol and all of Nick's family.

May his memory be eternal. He was a true gentleman when helping me with an insurance issue back in the late 80's. There was a genuineness about him that stayed with me. We never met again but I vividly remember his presence and warmth and compassion. Condolences to his family.
