It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Petrie Sr. at St. Joseph's Hospital on September 17, 2021 in his 83rd year. Jim is predeceased by his parents George and Buntie and his brother George (Verna). Jim is survived by his sister Lillian (Mike) and his brother Jack (Brannan). He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends, his wife Joan, his children, Jim Jr., Andrew, Leanne (Geoff), Steve (Carol), his grandchildren Adam (Lisa), Joshua (Amy), Nathan (Jessie), Ashley and Elsye, and his 7 great-grandchildren. Jim's passions included his family, his friends, writing, renovating, music, spinning yarns, and being the light and life of every party. Jim was a retired volunteer with Hamilton Beach Rescue Unit and a member of Beach Lodge 639. Jim gave much and asked for nothing in return. Cremation has taken place. A beach memorial to honour Jim will be held in the spring. Details to follow.
