Marion Cox

St. George, UT - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Marion Pearl Clawson passed away peacefully on December l9, 2013 at her home. She was born September l7, 1930 in St. Ignatius, Montana to Ray and Veva Clawson. She grew up in the little town of Charlo; they owned little but had much love in the little railroad car that became their beloved home.

Marion was raised along with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Her mother passed away when she was eleven and the family was dispersed among friends and family. At that time Marion began working for her own room and board. She lived with her Aunt LaRue in Shelley, Idaho for a few years while she finished her high school education. After high school Marion married and had six children; Brian Joel Glauser (died at 6 months with heart conditions) Neil Glauser, Lori Lyn Rogers and Lorin Lee Glauser (her twins), Ross Glauser and Genis (tragically killed in a motorcycle accident when she was ll years young). At a young age, Marion began tenaciously raising 5 children by herself. After much prayer, she gained employment with RT French Company, in Shelley, Idaho, where she was employed for 30 years as a microbiologist. Her talents included sewing, rock collecting, fishing, genealogy and an avid reader as well. Our mother enjoyed working in the Idaho Falls Temple and had many callings where she served faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mother had a great faith and she felt a keen awareness of her pioneer ancestry.

During her 70th year she attended a baptism of a delightful new friend, John Cox, who became the love of her life! They were sealed in the St. George Temple in November 2004. They enjoyed traveling to visit family and historical sites. Mostly John and Marion loved entertaining children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John lovingly cared for Marion and attended to her every need during her recent illnesses.

She is survived by her husband John, her 4 children (listed above), 10 granddaughters, 7 grandsons and 22 gorgeous and talented great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her older sister Orilla Scott (Shelley, Idaho) and a younger sister Mrytle Allred (from Spokane, Washington). She is blessed to have great sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and sons and daughter- in-laws as well as a multitude of friends. She adored them all and felt as if they were her own.

She is preceded in death by many earthly angels, her parents, 3 brothers: George, Rone, and Jack, and her little sister Beth, her two children, and one grandchild, Krista Glauser. They are having a cherished reunion.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the St. George LDS Riverside Branch Chapel at 2434 East Riverside Drive. Visitations will be held at the chapel at 12 noon prior to her funeral. Interment will be held at Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, Utah.

The family would like to give special thanks to Horizon Hospice and many friends and special neighbors who dropped in daily and helped out with much needed service. Many wonderful neighbors kept a constant, vigilant, outpouring of love and needed help. On behalf of our mother, we as a family want to especially thank them for their charitable acts of kindness.
