"Mickey" Esther Allred

Cedar City - "Mickey" Esther Brenay Allred, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Cedar City, Utah, on May 4, 2018. Mickey was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 22, 1933 to Charles Brenay and Marian Skinner Brenay. She was the 9th of 13 children.

Mickey married her first husband, Hardy Segler Sr. in December 1950, in Kingman, Arizona. They moved to Henderson, NV where Hardy Sr. worked at the Titanium Plant, and Mickey worked as a bank teller. Their first son, Denny, was born in 1952, and their second son, Hardy Jr., was born in 1954. Their third child, a daughter, Judy Lynn was born in 1956.

After her divorce from Hardy, Mickey married Rupert Lane in March of 1964. Rupert's work as a pipefitter took them all over the U.S. Rupert died of cancer in 1988.

Mickey met Kenneth Allred in Riviera, Arizona and they were married in March of 1989. In 1990 Mickey and Ken moved to Oklahoma to be closer to Ken's family, and in November 1991 they were sealed in the Dallas, Texas Temple.

They soon realized they were too far away from Mickey's side of the family, and made the move back west, settling in Cedar City, Utah. While there they served in many fulfilling church callings together. Their favorite calling was as Ordinance Workers in the St George Temple.

Mickey is survived by her sons, Denny (Elaine) Segler of Henderson, NV, and Hardy Segler Jr. of Boulder City, NV; along with 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, LeRoy (Mary) Brenay of Delta, UT, Isaac (Janie) Brenay of Delta, UT, and brother-in-law, Tony Lake of Delta, UT.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Allred; daughter, Judy Lynn Segler; her parents, Charles and Marian Brenay; 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00am at the Cross Hollow Stake Center (2930 W. Cody Drive, Cedar City, UT). Viewings will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 6:00 -8:00pm, at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar city, UT), and on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:30 - 10:30am at the Cross Hollow Stake Center. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.sumortuary.com.
