Isabel Gimenez De Prieto Obituary
Isabel Gimenez de Prieto

Parowan - My dear mother, Isabel Prieto, passed away on July 7, 2018 at the age of 92 years old in Parowan, Utah. Born in Rosario, Argentina on April 19th, 1926 to her parents Maximiliano Gimenez and Natalia Lopez, both immigrants from Spain. She grew up in the city of Rosario and married her husband Angel Prieto on April 22, 1950. They lived in Rosario until February 1980 when she and her husband immigrated to the United States to stay close to their only daughter. They had a wonderful life together.

Isabel was an accomplished seamstress, but she loved knitting more than anything. She made numerous blankets, sweaters, hats, scarfs for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. She entered many of the items she knitted in the Iron County Fair through the years getting sweepstakes and blue ribbons.

She became a member of the on March 1950, just one month before she got married. The baptism was performed by her future husband. She served in about every calling in the church, most of the time in the Relief Society. She loved being a visiting teacher and many times she brought me along with her when I was a child.

She had one daughter, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She loved her family very much and her family loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Silvia Page, her son in law Leland Page, grandchildren Lalena Taylor (Brent), Natalie Roach (Matthew), Garritt Page (Elizabeth), Daniel Page (Michelle), Benjamin Page (Ruth), Seth Page (Daisy) and Amy Dow (Cory), and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Jose and Placido, sister Elida, granddaughter Marisa and great-granddaughter Isabel Rose.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13 2018, at 1 pm in the Parowan Stake Center (90 S Main, Parowan, UT). A viewing will be held on Friday, July 13, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Relief Society room of the Parowan Stake Center. Interment will be in the Parowan City Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.sumortuary.com.

The family wished to express gratitude to the nurses from Intermountain Home Care and Hospice for the loving care shown to my mother during the last six months of her life.
