Jerry "Oscar" Blandford, 69, of Booker Rd., Springfield, died at 10:23 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at his residence. 
Born Dec. 2, 1949, in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Martin and Elizabeth Virginia Tamme Blandford.
He was a graduate of Washington County High School and was a farmer and business owner in Springfield and Washington County for many years.
He is survived by his wife Betty Smith Blandford; three daughters, Lori (Tim) Graves of Springfield, Sherri (Tim) Grant of Richmond and Alison Blandford of Springfield; a brother, Roy Neil (Dorothy) Blandford of Springfield; a sister, Joann (Frank) Clements of Louisville and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tyler) Graves Coulter, Katie Grant, Emilee Graves, Jacob Graves, Jared Grant, Travis Grant, Dustin Taylor and Haylee Taylor.
Funeral Mass for Jerry "Oscar" Blandford was conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. and Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating. Cremation took place after services. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m., Monday.
Pallbearers were Mike Grigsby, Charles "Whitey" Simpson, Danny Fenwick, Todd Kelty, Mark "Sparky" Wheatley, James "Fletcher" McIntyre, Jamie Baker and James Glen Spalding. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, Elizabeth Coulter, Katie, Jared and Travis Grant, Emilee and Jacob Graves and Dustin and Haylee Taylor.
