Virginia Ann Montgomery Cox, 83, of Montgomery Lane in Willisburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at her home.
A native of Washington County, she was born July 29, 1935, to the late John Smith and Lena Joyce Tharp Montgomery.
She was a member of Rockbridge Baptist Church, a graduate of Willisburg High School, and in 1992 retired from the General Electric Company after 25 of service.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Marion Cox; a son, John E. Cox; two grandsons, John David Marion Cox and Adam Taylor Beare; a daughter-in-law, Lori Cox; two brothers, Kenneth Montgomery and his wife, Barbara and Wayne Montgomery, and three brothers-in-law, Homer England, Joe Steele and Dewayne Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Cox of Willisburg and Paul Cox (Sonya) of Hamilton, Ohio; two daughters, Carla Wyatt (Timothy) of Franklin, Ohio, and Anna Jarvis (Brian) of New Miami, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Caroline England of Springfield, Shelby Steele of French Lick, Indiana, and Helen Johnson of Springfield; three brothers, John Montgomery (Linda) of Willisburg; David Montgomery (Debbie) of Springfield and Danny Montgomery (Judy) of Willisburg and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Will Sipes, a former pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday at Carey & Son Funeral Home.
