Miss Russell was very patient with me in mentoring me as a new baby Christian every time I visited the library at Thompson Collegiate in 1973. She even took the time to come to my baptism. I have very fond memories of her. I'm so happy she's with the Lord and I can't wait to see her again.

Miss Russell was great as a librarian at Thomson. On our spares we would gather in one of the study rooms but we would get a little loud. While one librarian would give us heck, Miss Russell would quietly remind us the rooms were not soundproof. She was wonderful.

Miss Russell's kindness knew no bounds. I first met her 40 years ago at Thomson Collegiate and she became my first boss as I worked in the library with her. I've maintained contact ever since and my last email exchanged with her was on January 21 this year. I'm deeply saddened at the news that the world has lost such a bright and influential person. I will always remember her love for helping others and teaching people how to enhance their light by getting closer to God through Jesus. She has been a beacon of light for so many and my heart goes out to her family at this time. May you reflect on how many people have been blessed to know her, including yourselves and how lucky we all were to have had her in our lives in one way or another. She will be dearly missed. My deepest condolences to you as you are about to attend her funeral and say good-bye. Many of us will be with you virtually linking to the service offered by the funeral home.

I remember Ms. Russell as being a very kind lady from my years at David and Mary Thomson C.I.. Although I didn't spend a lot of time in the library, the interactions I did have with her left a lasting impression on me.
My sympathies to those affected by her loss.

Fond memories of helping out after school in the library during my grade 9 in 1985 with her and Mr. Tucker. Was fortunate to have chatted with her in 2019 at the Thomson reunion party.

May eternal light be granted to her and may her light shine on her family and friends.

In memory still bright, amen.

I encountered Miss Russell my first year at Thomson, as I wanted to work in the library. Miss Russell was an inimitable presence, and hired me to work in the library from grade 9-13, gradually increasing my responsibilities. I was lucky to have worked with her as she taught me many library processes and procedures, so that when I went to college, I had a good foundation before starting the Library program. I used to go back to Thomson to visit her and to help out if needed. Ruth was a wonderful mentor and we kept in touch for years. I last saw her at the 50th reunion. I will always think fondly of her. Thank you for helping me to become a Library Technician (just celebrated my 40th work anniversary. Library is a wonderful career and like Ruth she likely had no idea how many people she inspired and helped over the years.
My deepest condolences to her family and all her worldwide friends.
