Jim was a great guy and a real servant of the people in whatever he did in public, business or private life. Proud to known him and for having helped him win his seat in the Ontario Legislature. We had great times on our boats at Ontario Place.

I just randomly came across the news of Jim's passing while looking up archival photo's of Toronto on Gettyimages, i saw a few of him from his political days there. I worked for him in his private company in the late 80's until the early 90's. I was just a dumb kid in his early 20's and he while we had our differences as boss/employees often do i've always remember him as a father type figure to me. I still vividly remember a conversation we had one day, where he told me that while i was 20 and he was 50ish at the time, that time flies so fast that i'll be there before i know it, and boy was he right lol. Where did the last 30 years go?
I currently manage a large company and i've often used things i learned from him and his partner Al in those days and remember advice they both gave me. It's a shame to hear of his passing, i wish i'd seen it at the time i would have liked to have paid my respects. My respects to his wife Lena and daughter Rosie.
