Lisa, I just learned of your dad's passing on TV! I can't find any contacts for you, so this is my opportunity to send my heartfelt sympathies to you, your mom and your sisters. Both my parents are gone, and I still struggle with it.
Thank you for the wonderful times I was able to spend with you and your parents at your house in Thornhill during and after university. Those memories will never be forgotten. God bless you all. ❤❤

My sincere condolences to Gustav's family. I've been an American fan of his since 1998 when I first read about him in Blood Horse magazine. I've made many successful wagers since then on horses that he owned and/or bred. THANK YOU Mr. Gustav Schickedanz, May he Rest In Peace.

So sorry to hear of Gus' passing, I was fortunate enough to speak with him a couple of weeks ago. Many special memories of his family and horses from the years gone by with my parents John and Hazel.

Condolences on the passing of Gustav. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Ontario Festival of Hunting in 2004. Even though he was in his mid-70's at that time, he had fearless determination and drive as he exclaimed loudly at a stirrup cup, Let's get hunting! Kick on, Gus!

Some of us in life are lucky enough to meet special people, who leave an everlasting impression of strength, old fashioned core values and love of family. Gus is one such person, who I have known since 1986.
He loved horses- not just a hobby, but as a way of life. He cherished his family and never forgot from where he came! He was direct, non waveringly loyal, a man of great passion and zest for life- and not afraid to take a position that ran contrary to what was considered politically correct.
I loved when he took your hand, looked you squarely in the eye and shared his thoughts, bits of history and personal experiences! What a man!!
I will miss you Gus. Bob Storey
