Murray JOHNS Obituary

JOHNS, Murray David October 3, 1954 - January 4, 2018 We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Predeceased by his mother Gertrude June Johns (nee Douglas) and his father Roger Wellington Johns. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Tammy Johns (nee Townson), daughter Katelyn Iveson (Tyler) and son Daniel. Treasured brother to sister Heather (Edward) and brother Douglas (Yvonne). Cherished uncle to his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Murray's radio career spanned 30 years from sales to senior management for several of Canada's top broadcasters. He was known for his sense of humour, incredible ear for music, love of all things golf and his enduring encouragement and support of his kids in all aspects of their lives. Thankfully we have a lifetime of "Murrayisms" to keep us laughing. A memorial service will be held at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., at Burnhamthorpe, on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visitation beginning at 10 a.m. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto or the Canadian Transplant Society would be appreciated. So sad to hear this.

So sorry to hear of the passing of a dear friend from my radio days at CFGM with Murray. He was always with a smile, a kind word, a pat on the back or an offer to help with those he worked.
Although I have been retired since 1999, I have followed with interest and hope for Murray through his last difficult years, may a dear friend now rest in peace
