Genevieve Dalglish Obituary

GENEVIEVE KATE DALGLISH

A life bravely lived. Genny passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 with her family by her side. Beautiful daughter of Peter and Camilla Dalglish, loved by her sister Kim Abell (Martin) and her brother Geordie Dalglish (Swith). Genevieve was a beloved aunt to Sarah, Luke, Alexandra, Louisa, Benjamin and Marigold.

Genny adored her cousins who were very important in her life. She was a sweet, bright light to her aunts and uncles: Nancy, Grainger, Mary, Gretchen and Humberto, Wendy and Leslie, Galen and Hilary, and her many friends.

Born in Toronto in November, 1970, Genny attended Whitney Public School, Northern Secondary, Bethany College and Humber College for Early Childhood Education.

Genny touched many hearts with her outgoing personality, kindness, generosity and warmth. She loved the arts and played classical piano, as well as the Beatles and Disney ballads. She also sang, wrote stories, painted and made pottery. One of Genny's great joys was hosting her friends and family at Camp Madawaska. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making her guests smile.

Genny's courage in adversity was remarkable. She flourished with her friends at 1425 Bayview and was loved by those who knew her in the community.

The family wishes to extend their enormous gratitude for the care given by the doctors and staff at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and Princess Margaret Hospital. A special thanks to her wonderful Doctors Anne Bassett, Jeff Daskalakis and John Hopkins and his assistant Simone who cared for Genny with such kindness over many years.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. in YORKMINSTER PARK BAPTIST CHURCH, 1585 Yonge Street, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make a donation to Creative Works Studio at http://creativeworks-studio.ca or 416-864-5000 or to the Peter Munk Hearts & Minds Clinic at www.tgwhf.ca/tribute or 416-340-4430.
