To the Prentice family, I can’t tell you how saddened I was to learn of Bruce’s passing. I didn’t realize he had passed away until I found the obituary 8 months later. It is never too late to express condolences. I worked with Bruce at Discount for many years. We spent a lot of time together discussing baseball (what else?). I feel my life has been enriched by knowing him and counting him as a wonderful friend. May his passing be for a memory.

I will really miss Bruce. He allowed me to photograph Induction Ceremonies for the Ontario Sports Hall Of Fame and the Canadian Entertainment Hall Of Fame. I truly appreciated his friendship

Bruce was my coach at Seneca College in 1981 and he was proud of me when I interviewed Tom Lasorda before we played in Winter Haven Florida. He was a great guy to talk baseball with over the years on my radio show. Rest In Peace Skip

Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

December 13, 2020

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Bruce Prentice, the Founder and first president of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, a position he held for a decade. Bruce guided the Hall through its early years when we called Exhibition Place and then Ontario Place our home and under his leadership, our first induction ceremony was held in 1983 when John Ducey, James “Tip” O’Neill, Phil Marchildon, George Selkirk, Lester B. Pearson, Frank Shaughnessy were honoured.
We will never forget Bruce’s enthusiasm, creativity and strong governance that helped make the CBHFM what it is today. We are thinking of his wife Audrey, and their children are Brad, Laura, Graham and David during this time and offer our condolences.

Bruce and I were friends and collaborators for many years, dreaming up and investing energy in such big ideas as the World Sports Hall of Fame. Bruce was a pioneer and visionary whom I will never forget.

The passing of my Uncle Bruce is a big loss and source of great sadness to our family especially in this year. He was larger than life, accomplished a lot and will be remembered by many. He was much loved by my dad, William, Robert and David who pre-deceased him, and by his brother Alex and sister Jean. My family's sincerest condolences to Aunt Audrey and cousins Brad, Laura, Graham and David and their families. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Christopher

To Audrey & family:
I met & enjoyed Bruce' friendship for several years at Discount Auto Leasing. A man of strong beliefs but always had an open mind in listening to others. He shared many wonderful stories of his sports career and especially those of his much loved family.
My sincere sympathies in your loss. Rest in peace my friend.
