Clarence Powell Obituary

POWELL, Clarence Austin - Passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in his 88th year. Dearly loved husband for almost 66 years of Thelma (nee Pickering). Loving father of Gordon (Susan), Bill (Sandra), Noreen (Glenn) Barber, Elaine Harman (Doug), Donna (Albert) Schevers. Cherished Grandpa to Patricia (Brad) Nosworthy, Geoffrey (Jenn), Byron (Carmen), Michael (Nancy), Jennifer (Blair) Carmichael, Andrew (Sally), Christopher, Erin (Paul) Ivany, Jodi (Wes) Craven, Tamara (James) Goldie, Edward (Alicia) Lawrenson. Clarence was also a special Grandpa to 15 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Harold, Stanley and sister Greta (La Pointe) and brother-in-law of Grace Powell. The family will be accepting visitors at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, Markham, on Friday, April 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service celebrating a life well lived will take place on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Springvale Baptist Church, 3885 Stouffville Rd., Stouffville, Pastor Jay Sandiford officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Clarence to the Springvale Baptist Church, Emmanuel International or the Canadian Diabetes Society.
