DIANNE WISE Obituary

WISE, DIANNE It is with broken hearts we announce the death of Dianne Wise (nee Haskett), on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, due to COVID-19. Dianne is survived by her husband of 24 years, Richard Hewett. Loving mother of Stephen (predeceased), Michael (Iona), Kathryn (Jeremy) and Lisa (Craig). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Isla, Henry, Phoebe, Charlotte and Evelyn. Cherished sister to Fran and John. Predeceased by her parents Francis and Mary Haskett, and brother Paul and his wife Nancy. Fondly remembered by Richard's son Kevin (Jules) and his daughters Chase and Jade. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews and their children. Dianne was a longtime teacher-librarian at St. Joseph's Elementary School in Brampton, and longtime "Mamma Owl" to countless friends. She was well known for her sense of humour, strength and endless devotion to her family. The family wishes to thank the medical staff in the respiratory department at Brampton Civic Hospital for their care amid very trying conditions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the William Osler Health System Foundation. A memorial will be held at a later date when, as Dianne would put it, "the family is able to hug one another in person."

Mrs. Wise , was the best teacher I’ve ever had after moving to St.Joesphs as a learning disabled child, she followed me through grande 1-4 .., she was so patient and kind, caring and compassionate, she took all my disadvantages and helped me find the strengths and learning opportunities to help me grow ..we unfortunately ended up moving up north to be closer to family .. she has and will always be my most memorable teacher and I have always spoke very highly of her and am so saddened by her passing .. my thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family . ..

Dianne was one of my first friends in teaching many years ago at St. Joseph. She was a wonderful Grade 1 teacher and later Teacher-Librarian, mother and friend. I fondly remember our many life chats and her witty sense of humour. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Dianne and I worked together at St. Joseph School. We became such good friends during my time at that school and she was always there for me to lend a helping hand as I was learning the ropes. I fondly remember Dianne always smiling and telling jokes in the staff room. Her warmth and sincerity are only a few of the beautiful character traits that she possessed. A true elementary school teacher, friend and role model.
Dianne, I hope you are resting in peace now. My deepest condolences to all of her family that she would so lovingly talk about all of the time.

I worked with Dianne, quite awhile ago, at St. Joseph School. I admired her friendliness, her wicked sense of humor, her grace, and her diplomacy. When you think of the perfect primary school teacher, Dianne has to be what comes to mind...she was so kind and gentle with the little people entrusted into her care. Though I haven't seen Dianne in a long time, I have never forgotten her. Who can forget that beautiful red hair and warm smile! I have her stored where I keep all my valuables....in my heart. Rest in peace, Dianne. My condolences to her family.

We are so sorry for your loss. Dianne was such a sweet and kind person. Although it has been a few years since we've seen her she made sure to reach out to us first when our mom passed away and then in 2019 when our father (her cousin Howard Lloyd) passed away. She was always so thoughtful. May she rest In peace.
