DONALD JOHNSON Of Sauble Beach, after a valiant battle with cancer at Residential Hospice Grey Bruce on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Donald Everett Johnson at the age of 87 years. Loving husband to the late former Peggy Neville (2009) for over 39 years. Cherished father of Anesie Johnson-Smith and her husband Aaron, of Oakville. Devoted "Poppa J." to Sydney and Parker; and beloved cousin of Jim Johnson of Ottawa. Don leaves behind a legacy of trumpet playing and will be missed by the numerous brass players whom he taught and mentored over the years at Humber College. Friends are invited to gather with the family at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home and Chapel, 814 Bruce Road 8, Sauble Beach, 519-422-0041, on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m., where a service celebrating Don's life will be conducted in the chapel at 11 o'clock. Very sorry to read this news. It was a pleasure to play with him in KBB back in the early days of the band. Condolences to Don's family and friends and fellow musicians......I remember him being quite funny and always hamming it up in the cornet section. RIP Don. Music is a wonderful thing that brings so many people together...
