GORDON, Henry - The sad passing on Saturday, January 24, 2009, leaving Zita, the love-of-his life and wife of 68 years. A Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran and radio instructor for the British Commonwealth. Also leaving daughters Rita and Sandra, son-in-law Harry and grandchildren Laura and Joey. Service at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West, Tuesday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of the Paranormal, www.csicop.org .

Please pardon me for intruding if I am memorializing a different Henry Gordon, but your choice of an organization for memorial donations made me think of Henry Gordon, the magician, whom I knew in Montreal many years ago. He had a store on Queen Mary Road, with a recording studio in the back, where I used to make recordings for my bar mitzvah students. If your husband and father is the same Henry, the world has lost a very special person; and if he was a different Henry, then I am sure the world has lost another special person - one whom I did not know. In either case, may you have only pleasant memories of him.
