Lord, this man was a beacon of light amidst raining darkness. And lord, forgive me for speaking to you so directly, but you said from an abundance of the heart let the mouth speak. Lord, I was there, and so were you. I am a witness to the kindness of this great man's heart and abundance of spirit lord,
It was late afternoon one cloudy boxing day, when after our weight lifting section at Desmonds house that was located at one end of Akawinni Street in Campbellville Georgetown Guyaba. the same street on which this decent, kind man lived.
Five of us were standing in a circle in front of his house. l was sixteen years of age at the time.
Tom said, there's a boxing match on today at Bourda. Dick replied, yes, and we should all attend. Harry suggested, we started the journey getting there so as not to miss any of the action.
Maurice Dumont pulled out his wallet and after a quick calculation said " I will pay the entrance fee ticket for Winston" I was the only one in the circle with no money to purchase his own ticket.
That was my first and only live boxing match event I ever had attended. Thanks to the generosity of this great man Maurice Dumont.
Rest peacefully my good man.

My Dear Uncle Maurice,

Your wonderful smile, your zest for life and your love of all things living - except dogs that are kept in the house! ;-) - will be forever imprinted on my memories of you.

The world is a sadder place without you in it.

Until we are together again, dear uncle ...

Love always,

Richard 'Ricky' Dumont

Dear Uncle Maurice, you have been such a good inspiration in my life ever since the day I can remember. You always had a huge smile for me and the special way you explained things to me in such detail will be cherished forever. You told us all great stories about our family history and your childhood days that only you could tell. You did so much with me when I was a child even when so many couldn’t be bothered. I will never forget our outings together, the subway and bus rides you took me on for hours. It was a great honour to be part of your life and I will never ever forget you.

You will be missed forever.

I Love You,
Maurice Dumont Jr.
