ROBERT DULMAGE PHILLIP 1921 - 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert Dulmage Phillip of Gravenhurst, Ontario on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Affectionately nicknamed "Dagwood", during WWII by RCAF Spitfire Squadrons 421 and 416. He was respectfully recognized and decorated by His Majesty King George the VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II. Robert was repeatedly honoured and was the second most decorated Canadian pilot of the war. He continued his passion for aviation and concluded his career after many years of both corporate and government service. Robert leaves behind his devoted wife Margaret Ramona Phillip (nee Vincent), two children Edward Phillip of Pinellas Pk., FL and Judith Snyder of Montgomery, TX. Bob was also a devoted grandfather of Kevin and Jennifer Phillip of Kitchener, ON; Nicole Jones and Cheryl Phillip of Pinellas Pk., FL; Corinne, Robin, Martin and Evan Snyder of Montgomery, TX, as well as 5 great- grandchildren. Robert was the epitome of obedience, duty and responsibility, the vestige of a generation of loved ones sadly coming to an end. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. In memory of Robert, donations may be made to The Poppy Fund. A Service of Remembrance Celebrating the Life of Robert will be planned in the future. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the W. J. Cavill Funeral Home, Gravenhurst.
