BRKLACICH, Steven Passed away peacefully on September 1, 2017 aged 87 in Barrie, Ontario. Born and raised in Schumacher, Steve had a long and successful hockey career spanning 40 years. He was a player and coach in the minor leagues EHL and OHL for a number of years, subsequently chosen to join the executive ranks in the National Hockey League, notably as Scout/Director of Player Personnel with the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Hartford Whalers. As a veteran hockey guy, his notoriety was in his minute detail for stats, facts and an incredible depth of hockey knowledge. Predeceased by former wife Helen (nee Pajala) who raised their daughters Lori and Wendy, spouse Thelma Keenan and his long term partner Mavis White who sadly passed away in February. Survived by his daughters Lori and Wendy (Robin), as well as his brothers Tony (Mary), Joe (Barbara) and sister, Rosie Sekulich. Private cremation will be followed by a family celebration of life at a later date. Our gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Donations on his behalf can be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
