DONALD NORMAN MacAULAY, M.D. Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in his 76th year. He is survived by his partner of 38 years Warwick R. Butt (Rick), his brother John and his wife Carol and their children Michell (Mark Turcotte), Mark and his wife Hilary and Ian and four great- nephews. Son of the late Wilma and Laird. Donald was born on April 15, 1936 in Southampton, Ontario. He attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated from medicine in 1962. He volunteered with CARE and was posted in Afghanistan for the next two years. Dr. Don returned to Toronto where he started his private practice, which included four generations of one family, until he retired in 1998. He was involved with AIDS patients and was very supportive through all stages of their illness. Donald has been cremated and at his request there will be no service. There will be a Celebration of Don's Life at his home "Windsong" at a later date. Rick would like to thank Drs. Rogakou, Faris, Thorne and Bell, nurses Susan, Adrea, Alana and Sam and physical therapists Elaine and Cory for their compassion and care during Don's final days. Missed by his pets Maggie, Ziggy, Pip, Gilbert, Sullivan and Kate. Please consider a contribution in Dr. Don's memory to a charity of your choice.
