My sincere condolences to the entire Barnes family.
Blair was one of my first idols growing up and he never disappointed me, not even once. He was always so good to me. Blair was one of those players that fans of the Windsor Spitfires always wanted more from, he was that good!!.
To this day, Blair is still mine and my fathers all time favorite. When ever he saw my dad and I, he would always spend time with us.
After his final year as a Spitfire, my mother made a ceramic statue of him that we gave to him at the Spitfire banquet. He was so touch!!! He always called me his number one fan.
When he was back in Windsor for the night his LONG standing record for points was to be broken, he invited me to sit with him and his father for the game. Another great gesture by a true gentleman.
My greatest memory was the night the Spitfires beat the London Knights out of the play-offs. Blair scored the winning goal in true Blair Barnes fashion. Flying down the right wing and smoking a slap shot over the goalies shoulder. 3 - 2 win for the Spits!!!! I really thought that was the night the roof was going to blow off the old Windsor barn!!!!
Good by my friend!

My most sincere condolences to the Barnes Family especially the children.
Blair and I were best friends in high school(Sandwich Secondary).
Although he was friends with almost everyone, we had a bond I won't forget. We spent many hours together doing what high school guys do, especially working on our cars. We did everything together. He was even the best man at my wedding.
I watched him play many games with the Windsor Spitfires along with his great slapshot he was an incredible enforcer.
Blair was always humble at school even though he was a hockey star, that was why he was so well liked. We met up a few years ago at the Centenial High school reunion at the Fogular Furlan and kept in touch by email.
Blair was a great friend and will be sadly missed.

Our condolences to the Barnes family. My wife Wendy (Macdonald) used to babysit Blair and Heather. I sold Blair my prized posession, my 69 Z/28 Camaro. I still see it at car shows. I'll always remember the look on Blairs face when I handed him the kays. He had the biggest smile. Whenever I see that car I'll remember that smile. May he be at peace now.
