John Young Obituary

JOHN YOUNG December 22, 1930 - July 17, 2010 John Young's earthly journey ended on July 17 when he entered the river of all souls to meet his blessed maker. He lived a full life, blessed with a loving family and countless dear friends. He will be affectionately remembered by all those lives he enriched. He went out of his way to bring joy to all those he encountered. His passion for life was infectious. His passion for painting was internationally recognized. His faith in eternity, total and absolute. He is survived by his loving wife Trudy, his daughter Vicki, his sons John and Greg and his granddaughter Tess. Today we celebrate a full, happy life that was his, the art he leaves behind, his warm smile, generous spirit and love of others. We will miss him. The peace and beauty of Heaven is a canvas we know he will enjoy towards total fulfillment. Friends and family may visit the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 275 Lesmill Road, North York on Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1300 Leslie Street, Don Mills Thursday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the John H. Young Bursary Endowment Fund at St. Francis Xavier University, P.O. Box 5000, Antigonish, NS B2G 2W5 would be appreciated. Information and Book of Condolence available at www.etouch.ca

Dear Trudy and Family,
We never had the privilege of meeting John, but have admired his artwork for many years. Twice his paintings graced the cover of "Living with Christ," the latest being the August 2010 issue. —Sincere condolences,

Deeply saddened by the sudden loss of a dear friend for 57 years. Will have many fond memories including a nice dinner and a game of golf just very recently.
